The famous pioneer sister of our town (I think she's a regular pioneer for 20 years now or so and known all over the circuit) usually does not have winter tires at her car. When I still was an elder, I even found that irresponsibly because she always took little children into the ministry.
Since she is rather stingy, her summer tires might also be a good excuse to ask others (who have winter tires) to take her in their car.
