CAN a jw have their blood oxygenated(sp?) outside their body?

    That pregnant woman who had swine flu and was flown to sweden had to have that done to survive.

    I think the WTS allow that as it is a similar process to dialysis. They have greatly relaxed their rules in recent years in this respect - even haemodilution is OK now. The view they take is that as along as the blood doesn't permanently leave the body then it is OK.

    Who cares what Brooklyn says. The important thing is she lives and get well.

    This is typical JW mindset. Oh I got to check with the elders first, to see if it is OK.

    They didn't have dialysis machines where she lived?

    I'm surprised the WTS isn't publishing an article about H1N1 and reminding JWs that "in the last days, woe to the pregnant woman.... "

    Yes you can, as the oxygenation process can be seen as an extention of the circulatory system.
