    Hello all!

Im going to the bible study/meeting/whatever tomorrow, and I feel kind of clueless about whats going to happend. I found LUKEWARM's thread here:

    http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/181831/1/Congregation-Bible-Study-Comments-Week-Commencing-21-September-2009

About the 'bible study' comments, but im not sure that is whats going to happend tomorrow. So, tomorrow, whats going to happend? what litterature is going to be studied? (and where can i find it - if it is books i have the WT cd, otherwise it would be great with some links). Well, its properly going to be fun.

while im at it, i found out the most incredible thing today - jehovahs witnesses are not allowed to say cheers! perhaps its because im a bit drunk, but im really curious about what demonic rituals lie behind the practise of saying 'cheers'. If anyone know a site or something with some info on that demonic practice, im all ears.

    peace out!

bluecanary: Never heard of that urband legend, but why does jehovahs witnesses think its wrong to say cheers? some of the 'forbidden' things i can kind of understand, like new years eve or christmas, but CHEERS?! im completely clueless.

    Titus 1:15-16 (New International Version)

15 To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted. 16 They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good.

Says it all really. So many things the WT teaches are "pagan", even wedding rings! JWs minds and consciences are corrupted.

    All the best,

    Stephen

Do you want the real reason or the official reason? The official reason may vary depending on what JW you ask. The basic answer will be that it's based on what pagans did or that it's an appeal to the god of luck. The true reason is that they are forbidden from doing certain normal things so that they will stand out and feel even more separate from normalcy. This is a tactic cults use to make people easier to control.

Sorry I can't answer the rest of your question. I have no clue what they're studying right now.

yknot: wow, you are a real sweetheart, thanks! I love the part with mp3's if im to drunk to read ;-).

Seems pretty harmless all in all.. The part from the reasoning book about how to place litterature at people who are not interested in the message raise some interesting questions, like why jehovahs witnesses are taught to respond to litterature in exactly the way everybody else should NOT or else face destruction by the loving and friendly God, but i doubt its suitable to ask given the format of the meeting.

I think i will shut up untill/if i get to a meeting where i can ask something really fun..
