I have very lucid memories of the results of that 1952 QFR on birthdays.
We were in the midst of a family turmoil and my mother told me we would not be
celebrating my upcoming birthday. I was devastated.
She was a caring soul and said I could still have a present.
We were very poor and I only received a pair of socks which I probably needed anyway. But we both felt a bit better.
That is one of the most vivid memories of my childhood.
