    So, what's the advantage of such a formation?

    It's unpredictable, especially if the back running it is adept at passing. It keeps the defense honest, from committing too many men, either in coverage, or at the line of scrimmage.

    Like everyone else has said, it's a direct snap offense with the player receiving the ball lined up off the O-line. It originated with Glenn "Pop" Warner at Carlisle in the 20's, with his Single Wing offense.

    I'm coaching my sons PeeWee team this year and we've put in the Wing as our main offensive formation. Tuesday night at our scrimmage we scored long touchdown runs on 2 of 4 plays that we ran. It was awesome!
