First of all, I never heard of this "Carlos".

Secondly, Randi was not being honest in his "experiment".

Thirdly, I actually KNEW Carlos Casteneda.

What he revealed to me, personally, will remain in my head, and will NEVER cross my lips.................NEVER.

    Thanks for the video, reb.

The Aussie journalist is now thankfully dead. He was a pathetic chaser of the cynical. I don't are if Carlos Castaneda was "genuine" , he portayed the archetype of the warrior's journey and If that enlightens the West to deeper knowledge, all power to his legacy

    Hi,

The same "hoax" has been going on for thousands of years.

    Deuteronomy 18:11 (New International Version)

11 or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead.

    Acts 16:16 (New International Version)

    Paul and Silas in Prison
16 Once when we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who had a spirit by which she predicted the future. She earned a great deal of money for her owners by fortune-telling. Strange how people haven't seen through it yet, save the kindred spirits of the youtube guru? Unless, of course there is a spiritual realm beyond this physical one? All the best, Stephen

James Randi has been debunking hoaxes his entire life.

People don't want to be educated. Its easier to believe

    in fairy tales.

"Unless, of course there is a spiritual realm beyond this physical one?"

That's like saying "Is there a daylight after darkness?"

First of all, I never heard of this "Carlos".

That's because you didn't live in Australia in the 80s. And he was an imaginary man who lived thousands of years ago.

Secondly, Randi was not being honest in his "experiment".

I don't think it was intended to be an experiment at all, but rather an expose on how people's prejudices cause them to believe obvious lies.

Randi isn't a scientist. He's a magician and skeptic. He was hired to do this project by a tv station.

When the Carlos impersonator announced his hoax, elderly people wrote letters to him saying, "Don't worry, we still believe in you."

People claimed to have heard of him on tv when he had never been on tv.

    Carlos hoax
