last night, my son and i sat on a panel
at a public meeting of PFLAG
(parents and friends of lsebians and gays)
very lively, very spirited discussion....
in the chat-ups afterward, the parents
of one of the panelist, a mid 30ish gay man,
started talking to me and at one point
asked what relgious affiliation we had been
a part of ( since my son briefly spoke about being
scared to death god would kill him for being trans)
it gives me no great joy to admit to being a former
drone in the b0rg collective....almost ironic in the
company of parents just now coming to terms
with their children's sexual orientation, eh?
at any rate, i 'fessed up to being a former
roman catholic born-in and 20 yrs a JW....
well lo and behold they had relatives that were b0rg
and omg did they light into them, the wife especially
saying "they destroy families" ... seems a wedding that
was supposed to happen this summer was all screwed up
because JWs wouldnt come if the worldy relatives did,
the bride had been DFd as a teen, not allowed to marry
the father of her son, now grown JW siblings reject extended family
yada yada yada!!!
"it is a cult you know" i said in matter of fact tones...
"the ear mark is the fact there is no dignified exit"
the husband repeated the phrase "no dignified exit"
as if committing it to memory, i am speculating,
to use it in his next go round with the relatives
i told them i had sealed my fate as apostate by
publically suporting my son in a front page article...
but that i had decided any god that would not
accept my son could not have me either....
made some new friends, or so it appears....
their reputation precedes them, in spades!

nice of you to think so, mate....
guess it was just a bit of an eye-opener
to have someone just jump right in and
start slapping the pretty off the JWs in
the instant there was an opening.....seriously, we ALL need to get out in
public more often..... we are not alone
in our POV about the inhumane aspect
of the b0rg's policies of shunning and
despising "the world" ... nutball cult -

You're right Chickpea, we are not alone or wrong about our POV concerning the bOrg cult and any opportunity to go public should be taken advantage of.

You're so right, chickpea. We ex-drones need to be just as vocal against Dubs as we were for them were still in the Borg. It seems like every time I'm even a little outspoken, I find someone who has something against the Dubs.
