I use both, but I tend to use gas much more than charcoal.

I usually take a little charcoal when I have Gas-works very well!
When cooking, I use charcoal with Hickory Chips or Mesquite added in. It gives a really good flavor.

We have gas....never really used charcoal. Am I missing something wonderful?

Charcoal.
I can tolerate pork and chicken cooked with gas.
I prefer beef cooked with charcoal.

Same here. I especially prefer beef over charcoal.
Maybe it's our gas grill but it always seems to dry everything out. Especially chicken.
Fish is pretty good on a gas grill.
