Living Forever Just a Pipe Dream? Can Science Bring it About Eventually?

Absolutely, in fact, there are a few wealthy, connected individuals today in places like Russia and Korea that are functionally immortal. This technology will be available to most of us within 10 to 20 years. The latest medical technologies, still in the lab, can stop telomere shortening, which leads to cellular senescence. Mice had their lives extended 50% with a telomerase treatment. We can now regrow any human tissue from induced pluripotent stem cells. RNA interference research currently in the labs has the potential to cure 60% of human diseases. We've been countering RNA expression for centuries by using pharmaceuticals. Now, we will be able to interfere with the RNA itself to prevent the undesired expressions. Cancer as a killer will also be a thing of the past, there are treatments involving Raman Spectroscopy, plasmonics, and nanoshells that selectively bind to cancer cells and destroy them. Mice were cured of cancer within 10 days. Others treatments now in research phase selectively induce cellular apoptosis in cancer cells, while not provoking a response in healthy tissue. Aging is a multifaceted disease, and science will cure it.

All through history, we've been fat-fingering our manipulation of matter. We've done things from the top down. We are getting increasingly good at manipulating atoms, from the bottom up. We can now specify the composition of materials down to the molecule, and produce them accordingly. The lines between biological and physical technologies are blurring, and will continue to blur. Eventually there will be no difference. When you go down to that scale, it is all the same, it is all atoms at that scale. Atomically precise manufacturing technology will enable to us to repair anything in the human body, which is basically an enormous collection of organic nanomachines.

I think the science and technology to extend our lives will be there,if its not here now.

I'm not sure our masters, creators will allow it.

There would have to be some tremedous changes in breeding and space exploration

    finding new habitats.

If all the Chineese, Indians and Mexicans were able to live

forever while at the same time popping out puppies every year

the earth would be seriouslly overpopulatted fast.

We'd have to keep electing Bushes to start wars to kill innocent people

    to controll the population.

Maybe the technoligy is here now to live forever or much longer

but not too many working people are going to benefit.

Having said that, maybe the technology has been here for centuries and only the

puppet masters get to drink from the fountain of youth.

When you start examining lifes mysteries and what's going on St Germains name comes up

Some say he is still alive.

St Germain is probably well connected to the puppett masters. Those who rule this world

    from behind the scenes.

Those who allow Bush, Clinton, and Obama to be presidents.

And who tell them what to do.

It will never happen because someone will somehow plunge the whole world into the Second Dark Ages, using brute force to push all those who want freedom out of their way. Anyone that wants freedom, even if it's 99.99% of the population, will simply be trampled.

As I see it, there is no excuse for not having people living forever. There is no need for population control--just regulator control (that is, if they start making things impossible, they need to be put out of power, even if they need to be killed, before they can prevent science from doing its job). Instead, there is such a thing as developing and creating infinite dimensions--leading to infinite free energy, infinite resources, and the potential for infinite population without having the problems we see now. And yes, I think science could, left to its own devices, allow people to live forever while still procreating to fill infinity.

Sorry, the Morticians and Probate Attorneys would use their "lobbys" to initiate legislation making living forever illegal ...
