Blondie provided a link to info about birthdays vs pinatas. Another good point. Using the birthday logic, then pinatas should be disallowed but using the pinata logic, birthdays should be okay.
What it really boils down to is two things...control and being different. Birthdays were labeled as pagan so as to differentiate the Bible Students/JWs from the rest of Christendom, along with Xmas and other holidays. Over time the main reason has become control. If you can control the thinking of people enough to shun birthdays and not question the logic, you've got em duped. When they question that logic, it sends a warning that someone in the Matrix is waking up.
