    Hi,

Some years ago when I did some reseach on the early history of JW and life of Russll I read some quote about the cross and crown symbol.

One of them was about how Russells attention was brought to the cross and crown symbol by a fellowbeliver. I think one qoute was from an early Zions Watchtower, but I'm not sure. Are there somebody who can help me with this quote?

I am not sure what that says, but because it is in "tounges" it must be inspired. So I agree 100%.

    Hi unclebruce,

Randy's site is interesting, but not what I'm looking for.

It is a quote which talk about one of Russell’s fellow believers who had seen the Cross and Crown symbol and proposed to Russell that they could use it to – and that Russell agreed in doing so.

I can’t find my notes on the subject right now, but I remember from my research then that there could be good reason to believe that the reason why they adopted this symbol could be seen in the light activity of Mary Eddy Baker (Christian Science). What gave me this idea was an article or book by Charles C. Cook or maybe William Trawers Ellis where is was shown that there was a pattern in Russell’s way of promoting himself: Copying others names and way doing something in a way that his behaviour was less unfamiliar.

    Cheers

    Hej Bereoa,
