Did You're Being A Witness Influence You Regarding Marriage or Being Single?

I think the congregation was more of an influence then the WTS in my case.

My first KH had me convinced to happily forego marriage and children, but the second's opinion that girls were worthless and to be married off as soon as possible after high school made me feel desperate for husbandly validation.

Looking back I put to much focus on finding 'him' versus finding 'me'.

To add to that failing, I married like most of my peers to 'start' my life , while my husband married to 'settle down'.

I didn't really entertain marrying a JW since I was marked and lived in a very socially restrictive household. If my mom's Ex (and PO brown-noser) had his way I would have lived in a closet and only let out to do chores.

I tell my daughter to not consider marrying until 25 and my son not until 27-30.

I stayed single because there were no eligible JW brothers.
