You're quite right about that. Notice also that the NWT inserts "Jehovah" in the text in Jude 14, which supposedly was on the basis that the name should be inserted in the NT when it quotes from the OT. However Jude 14 doesn't quote from the OT. It quotes from 1 Enoch. And most definitely, there is no name at all in 1 Enoch 1:9 (or anywhere in the context). This illustrates just how arbitrary the "restoration of the divine name" is the NWT (never mind the fact that it shouldn't have been done in the first place).

sir82....I refuted that notion in my thread on the subject:

To cut to the chase, and to dumb things down a little, 1 Enoch 1:9 is composed in exactly the same way as the rest of ch. 1 of 1 Enoch -- by plagiarizing scriptures from the OT. Just like the other verses in that chapter, it mixes together a little bit of Deuteronomy, a little bit of Jeremiah, a little bit of Daniel, etc. It is later than the writings of the OT and yet older than the NT (as a manuscript of the chapter dating to the first century BC was discovered among the Dead Sea Scrolls). That of course, is precisely when 1 Enoch as a whole was written (well, other than the Book of Parables, which is a little later).
