    Well I have never heard of pindas or goobers - very odd words to discribe nuts Like the ozzies - chooks are chickens ... or something like that. And we all know how odd the ozzies are.

    "Pinda" is the Dutch word for "peanut." Were there many Dutch or Low German settlers in the Southern U.S.?

    Loubelle, don't you eat "pindakaas" in South Africa? Or is the Afrikaans word for "peanut butter" quite different from the Dutch?
