Lysistrata

    Hey all,

I just want to tell you a little story.

A few weeks (about 5 I think) ago I decided to tell my parents that I am leaving the JWs. I actually did tell my dad, and he gave me another option. He told me to fade away instead of officially get out. I even told him I smoke once in a while, etc. And he told me not to close any doors and not to make it hard on myself by getting officially out. He reacted incredibly nice and loving.

Yesterday night I had to perform Lysistrata (a theatre piece by Aristophanes) with my theatre class (at university). This is a piece only about sex and sex and we made all kind of funny jokes about it. I invited my parents to come and watch the show, and told them in advance that it is not a very JW-like play. But they did come and told me I did great. My dad loves me whatever I do, even if it is not a JW-thing, and accepts my lifestyle.

I just wanted to share a positive story with you,

    Eppie

Sounds like Dad has it together. I could take some lessons from him.

Good experience, thanks for sharing Eppie.

I also recomend you find one or more ex-jw's in your area to at least stay in touch with if you haven't already. Speaking from experience, it really helps.
