Window Washing...

Where I work, we have tinted glass windows that go from about 3 feet off the floor - to the ceiling. I have an office that has a set - and there are other employees that have these windows.

I've seen the window washers working outside on occassion, as they take their squeegies and water, and clean the windows on the outside.

Today, the memo was passed around that the windows will be cleaned on the inside... on December 24th (Christmas Eve).

I told my wife this - and she was dumb-founded. I said... "Well... they're probably Jehovah's Witnesses doing the work."

Now, I don't have any knowledge if they are - or aren't... I'm just guessing. It just sounds odd that they'd schedule a 'cleaning' on the 24th.

    Regards,

I used to be a floor scrubber (and a window washer).
As a JW working for a JW, we would schedule a huge job on
December 25th. We would take on a Walmart floor that was
totally messed up from the holiday shopping and restore it
before they opened again on December 26th. It would usually
be a 20 hour job or so. We thought it was such a great way
to escape the secularism of the whole thing.

Well, at least you are not out in field circus that day.

"Put a Watchtower on a desk and watch what the window washers do."

    HAHAHAHA - you're funny.

I suppose I could do that... or how about taking a Watchtower out of my desk - or bring it in from out of the office - and rip it in half right in front of them - and then toss it into the trash can?

That may be an invitation for repeated and unwanted Return Visits.

Working holidays even if you are not a window washer has advantages.

I once had a job where they paid time an a half for holidays. Christmas was busy anyways so I would always work Chritmas and New Years and take as much overtime as I could get.

Everyone was happy. Others did not have to work the holidays and I got to earn a few extra bucks.
