Hello everyone, In recent times the Society has written/referred ; quite a lot ; about the prophecy of Malachi 3:1-3, the inspection ; of the temple etc. ; ; I’m posting it , hoping that it will be of help to some, because imho, it shows - ; for the doubtful - how fragile ; are ; the foundations of another important idea/doctrine/teaching of the WTBS Inc. ; (Malachi 3:1-3) “Look! I am sending my messenger, and he must clear up a way before me. He will certainly come,” Jehovah of armies has said. 2 “But who will be putting up with the day of his coming, and who will be the one standing when he appears? For he will be like the fire of a refiner and like the lye of laundrymen. 3 And he must sit as a refiner and cleanser of silver and must cleanse the sons of Le´vi; and he must clarify them like gold and like silver, and they will certainly become to Jehovah people presenting a gift offering in righteousness. * ‘The Watchtower’ ; ;September 1st 1931, page 268 Up to the year nineteen hundred and eighteen the faithful Christians on earth were especially looking for the Lord to end the work of the true church on earth and to take them all away to heavenly glory. The Malachai passage, in context, indicates that these events occur during a time when people are living peacefully an justice prevails in the land. That certainly does not apply to the 1918 era. So the WT will have to keep looking in scripture to justify their nice little "arrangement".
