You can make donations to any charity you want on this websites.

I am shocked to see JWs registered as a charity. I wonder if they are raising money from the site. In Australia JWs are not able to register and so any donations are not tax deductible.

Here in the U.K Jehovah's Witnesses are registered as SEVERAL charities, the GB headquarters at Mill Hill, London is one,and all congo's register as separate charity numbers, all Kingdom Halls are owned by a Trust, not by the Bros. who put money time and effort into building them!

I think this status could be open to legal challenge but someone would need the time to research the charity law.If I had the time I would certainly peruse their accounts, with particular interest in monies moving from one charity to another.

I have no idea how the WBTS are able to maintain their status as a Charity in the UK. There was a consultation carried out by The Charities Commission earlier this year and by their definition JW's break a number of the conditions. See this thread: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/143526/1.ashx

Myself and a number of others here have complained to the Charities Commission. It would be a big blow if they lost charitable status here.

    Good thread badboy!

No, it would be more likely to be revoked if it could be proven they do not provide public benefit, or that they interfere with people's choice to accept medical treatment.....oh....wait just a minute...
