Well, at least you got her to get the trash out of the house. You may feel a bit disappointed that she just moved it instead of tossing it, but she did do as you asked.
I would still take her to the book store and make sure she has some interesting reading material to take its place. You must replace the habit with something else.
And on evenings that you know she usually spends time "studying"...how about pick up a good movie from Blockbuster that day to see if you can engage her interests?
