CRESCENT CITY, FL -- The spots on the side of the building are not from a bad paint job at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Crescent City.
They are the places where Hall members like Doug Heinze spent hours cleaning, removing racist graffiti over the weekend.
"I didn't think much of it at first," Heinze said. "I know young people sometimes go out and do stupid things, but the police indicated to us this was a little more than that." Swastikas and the words "white power" were spray painted on the exterior walls and the carport. A swastika was also on the front door of the hall.

He [the guy who did the graffiti] said he hit the Kingdom Hall because its members tried to convert him.
Wendell Shepherd, a member and a Jehovah's Witness said, "It's just regretful that people misunderstand us and sometimes because of their ignorance they're moved to do things like this."

In the TV news they said the guy might be charged with a "hate crime" but this news story doesn't mention that.
