HappyDad... my parents, a bit older than you, are in the same boat for the same reason. They are still dubs though. No retirement or savings to speak of. Sad...

My money is in property. It might drop in value, but at least it's a real asset and not something intangible.

Ballistic, what about eminent domain/compulsory purchase? If that ever happens, hopefully the gov't will give you fair market value... ;)
