(Contradicts the "stay out of the husband's way" policy)

If it involves "Pornei'a", then we need to get her in a closed door session so we can hear all the good stuff and ask all kinds of inappropriate questions. Then go home, and beat off to what we just heard her say, and leer at the her every time she shows her face at the hall.

    Am I missing something?

My JW friend told me about this, but I wasn't so willing to believe it.

"The innocent mate should be informed that resuming sexual relations with the adulterous mate would indicate forgiveness and would therefore cancel the Scriptural ground for divorce"

    WOW! and this,

"a willingness on the part of the innocent mate to resume sexual relations with the adulterous mate within a reasonable period of time"

Reasonable period of time? Like later that night?

It's not a wonder my friend used to cry after having sex with her mate.

    And what about marital rape?

Actually this works against women terribly since many women do what they can to 'stablize' the situation and 'win' him back only to later on decide he is a schmuck and she can't really forgive the indescetion.

Also there is no scriptural support of such a narrow opinion.......only risky speculation.

Sex doesn't always equate forgiveness so much as reclaimation of postition..

I guess the innocent needs to have a notarized statement that this is only "maybe' sex!

how about that citation about private confession ....

I just finished reading this manual.

    (long pause. . . . . . . . . scratch head)

Thank you for uploading it and making it available for me to read. I understand a little more why and how my friend got so screwed up in this cult.

It must be like heaven on earth for some of the "good old boys" in this club. They even got their own manual, it's written so it must be "the truth" No?

And it seems like they can change the rules anytime they want to suit their own needs. What more can you ask for?

A friend of mine had a husband who cheated on her. She moved to the couch at night while she decided was best. He grew inpatient at her and raped her for the forgiveness sex. The view from the body was that she has forgiven him. Quite a few of the sisters including those married to elders protested. Not a single opinion was considered.

I tried to show this to my hubby, who was horrified but when he found out I got it off the "internet" he said it was bogus and made up. DENIAL

I still have 2 copies of my elder's manuals, one English and one Spanish, that I "forgot" to turn in....

Yes they make interesting reading. But they come in very useful to defend yourself from the kangaroos.

It's terrible how they make up so many rules... and JWs have the nerve to criticize the Pharisees for the same thing!
