Thank you for that reminder, Bizzy!

I'm going to the library today to rent AWAKENINGS. I saw it only once but loved it.

A happy/sad story that motivates one of far lesser ability but, nevertheless, one possessing a strong sense of purpose and determination.

    Gratefully,

There is something really interesting about that kind of mental illness/damage and how it affects identity. One of Oliver Sacks's books tells about an artist who lost the ability to see color due to a head injury. If I remember correctly, he not only couldn't see color any more, he couldn't remember seeing color before the injury. I read Born on a Blue Day too. So interesting and really helped me see how autistic folks think.

    Thanks, Hortensia:

It's difficult to imagine. I'm quite aware of off-centeredness but scarcely the specialness of being an autistic savant or an individual in one of the several other categories.
