Fadeout.. your chart says it's been at the same number forever. is that true? i thought the point was the number was going up?

It fluctuates up and down, but there has not been either an upward or downward trend for the last 30 years.

New Light- If you factor in the old ones dying, the number is going up, albeit in small increments. I am really curious about this years number as I know newly anointed(crazy) ones and have heard reports of a bunch of new partakers

In 2007 there were 347 more partakers than 2006... that is the largest single-year increase ever. It could well signal the start of an upward trend.

Isn't it amusing how the memorial partakers have recovered to numbers not seen since 1984!

Just a note of CAUTION here.
The parable about the vineyard workers is about the WTS and the cutoff after 35 years of the "anointed." That is, beginning with the third-hour workers they were not told they would get the penny. A half hour in the Bible is 3.5 years so an hour is 7 years. The work in the vineyard beginning 1914 for 77 years ends in 1991. But the third-hour workers show up after 21 years, 3 x 7 = 21. 21 plus 1914 is 1935. That is when the official "other sheep" class was recognized.
But as the parable shows, when Christ arrives to pay the workers, starting with the last first, THEY ALL GET THE PENNY! So technically, there should have been a sharp increase in partakers who now are anointed. Only thing is, the newly anointed ones have more accurate understanding and so they know they are not supposed to partake any more once Christ has arrived! He said keep this as a memorial UNTIL I RETURN. So technically if christ returned in 1914 they should have stopped partaking. But who knows the mind of the evil slave, set on doing lawlessness when it works.
So TECHNICALLY, some of the anointed might have not fully understood this or decided to acknowledge their being of the anointed if they are still associated with the congregation, so a slight increase after 1993 is expected, though most of the newly anointed know better than to partake after Christ has arrived.
Further the 144,000 are just the Jews who make up only 10% of the whole number (Isa 6:13). The total number of anointed is 10 TIMES 144K or 1,440,000!
Therefore, of ANYBODY THINKS or thought before May 2008 that they might be anointed or being "called" they should have answered that call. It's too late now but those sealed into the kingdom was going on until just recently.
The first-hour workers, making up the old anointed and thus the GB are the last to know and are surprised about these newly anointed ones who also get the penny! They don't like it that the "other sheep" are all invited up to heaven like they were. Christ says, "Take your money and go!" They do murmur against this, but that also means they were SURPRISED by this. So the GB doesn't understand, or didn't then, that EVERYBODY is invited up to heaven if they qualify, including the other sheep, who make up the 3rd through 11th hour workers.
So from a JIOR point of view, the newly anointed ones are not suspect though the WTS might think they are. 300+ is not aligned with their doctrine that that number is declining, right?
Anyway, if some of the newly anointed are showing up and partaking that is an indication of what is really supposed to be happening.
I bet if some of those newly anointed ones are very young as well, the WTS would tend to doubt their being anointed. I wonder what the congregations are doing about the newly anointed ones? I'm pretty sure they tried to talk them out of it or reason with them to make sure they KNEW they were of the anointed. Jehovah might have arranged for some of them to partake just to show what is going on. But the greater majority of them know they don't have to partake since Christ returned in 1992 and ate the last Lord's Supper in "Temple City" California on Passover, April 6, 1993.
So, like the "generation" concept, another false, out-of-touch concept by the GB which has now been "disfellowshipped" by Jehovah, by the way, as of November 10, 1992.
READ THE BIBLE! All the workers are granted the PENNY, meaning heavenly life! That means after 1991 if you were "other sheep" and worthy and actually paying attention to the Bible rather than the Watchtower and the call came, you got to be anointed. Like me! That's our authority, that all the workers are invited once the messiah arrives.
