My point is that in not every case is a vote for a third party exactly wasted. It just holds the danger of making something happen that you may not want to happen.
And yet no vote reform from the major parties. Simple changes like instant runoff voting would essentially do away with the possibility of a 'spoiler' effect, yet I see neither of the two parties moving to fix the problem.
With Obama going on and on with his "change" mantra, he has yet to discuss the #1 element that would actually bring real change to our political process. Quit locking the people out of the political process! Let's move forward with easier ballot access laws. Stop forcing us to go either red or blue every election cycle, local and federal.
Both of these so called 'reformers' are going to do little to nothing in the way of real substantive change in the way our nation goes about policy and law. So I say let there be 'spoilers'. The major parties have spoiled our democracy for what it's worth.
