I hope it was a lot of fun! Something to make the hangover worthwhile.
24 hours a day....7 days a week...Apostate sites never sleep!
Hi,
I just got up, after having a nightmare.
Those scenes sound beautiful, but your heat there is insane! May you stay in air conditioning until the heat wave passes, and I hope you get a cool stretch soon.

Yeah I am awake in the middle of the night too. There WAS something good on TV where I am -- I just finished watching "A Star is Born" from 1954 with Judy Garland and James Mason. What a great movie!
Now I think I'll turn in.
I'm still awake, 8pm here.
Guna have to do a thread about the amount of US insomniacs on this site……..
GO TO BED PEOPLE…..!! Geezzz....!!
Hort,
The phosphorescence from the prop wash is caused by the phytoplankton in the water. One of my favorite things to do during a night dive in the ocean is to have all of the divers turn off their lamps all at once and watch them glow. It is a surreal experience.
Man, I have to get down to the Cayman's or the Keys again sometime.

I too love being out in the middle of nowhere, seeing the stars at night. One of the darkest, most brilliant nights was in Northern Wisconsin, hours away from any city. It was pitch black. There were so many stars, I have never seen so many. There was also a small meteor shower. It was a veritable cosmic wonderland! I only wish I would have had my telescope, I would have been in for a real treat!
Have you ever seen the Northern Lights? The most brilliant display was when I was in Northern Manitoba back in 1984. I had gone with a brother to pick up his daughter who's car was stuck in a snowbank. It was really dark way out in the country. I happened to look up, and saw brilliant lights in pinks, greens, blues, and every color in between dancing and swirling in the sky. It scared the living bejeesus out of me, as I had never seen the Aurora before, and thought that maybe it was a nuclear attack or something. I tapped Ben on the shoulder, and told him to look up. He was amazed, and told me that they were the Northern Lights, and that he had never seen them that brilliant before! He had lived in that area his whole life, and said it was a once in a lifetime chance to see them so bright and vivid. I am thankful I was in the right place at the right time!
Neither time was I wearing my Tiara though-lol
Nature sure can provide beautiful shows of its awesomeness if we just take the time to look for it.
Hortensia:
What you've written is beautiful ...
I must be awake.
Yesterday it was only 100 degrees in the shade ("somewhat" north of you). Cool spell by comparison to PD.
Keep writing; you are so good at it.
