  After my 15 year bout with the Witness I am left thinking about how the entire "belief system" of the WTBTS undermines a persons ability to truly walk out their life in sincere integrity.

  Following rules...guidelines can be ignored...just not publicly. Bottom line is field service hours, bible studies, the new system will fix everything so no need to work making your life right in this old system.

  Just the publicity of turning in the field service report....what is up with that????? Bible studies just have to be reportable, never mind the harassment they might be causing some nice person who just doesn't have the guts to tell them they are full of sh#t.

  Anyway, my point is that they emphasis what is on the surface, and very few actually have the chance to grow those beliefs from deep within.

  Arrogance and judgemental-ism are encouraged. True empathy is only expressed in words. Acting on empathy is frowned on unless it fits neatly in the box of "beliefs". Once again, something that should come from within is brought to the surface.

  No wonder we fade....no wonder our kids lead double lives.....no wonder.

  The whole structure is designed to prevent people from functioning outside. You do whatever someone tells you. You follow whatever counsel the hounders tell you. You don't make any of your own decisions without Brother Hounder throwing it out and telling you what to do. No making connections outside of the cancer. Believe whatever is in the latest Kool-Aid Washtowel. Spend all your time as the Filthful and Disgraceful Slavebugger tells you. Say whatever they tell you to, in those words, both in the Kingdumb Hell and out in field circus.

  This is not how to develop someone. If someone is totally mentally retarded, it might be appropriate for this level of control on them. However, anyone with an IQ above about 35 should be able to make better decisions than what the Filthful and Disgraceful Slavebugger has made. That Young People Ask--Answers That Do Not Work book has ruined many a young person's chances of dating, getting an education, or finding good work. And they are going to release another Young People Ask--Answers That Do Not Work Part 2 to ruin even more young lives.

  It is all about appearances, to the fellow believers and the outsiders. As discussed on another thread, you can make any elder believe anything if you wanted to. Just do what you said wings; service, meetings, commenting, giving talks and so on. They only want to see the outside, not the heart.
