    Judith:
I guess I missed that one. I wished I had seen it. LOL. Essemblies were SO very boring that we hoped for some sort of disruption to make it interesting. I lived 30 miles east of Madison in the Watertown area and attended Madison assemblies for many years. And Janesville, too, of course. That is another story.

When I was privileged to serve as an attendant, we were told that if a disturbance was created, we were to form a circle around the troublemaker and escort him out.

I always tried to make sure I was always around a brother at least twice my size.

It was also very difficult to stay awake when you were one of the eight brothers posted right in front of the stage. Especially since all the old folks were seated on ground level so no cute chicks to gaze at.

Gary...remind me someday to tell you my secret way of getting any vending machine to pay up!

Pat, I asked about the security in reference to my post on bioterrorism. Actually I had been thinking about that problem for years as I used to do security consulting. Now that terrorists are at war with us, I guess I wanted to get some feedback from others how they felt about it.

ZazuWitts and Cygnus thanks for your information.

    Gary,

Why did they put an "Out of Order" sign on a perfectly good
candy vending machine at the convention?

They belly pushed you? It is OK for them to physically push
people around? What kind of attitude is that? Who gives them
the right to do that to people?

If it happened to me, I would feel like saying to them, "Brother,
you put your hands on me again, and, Witness or Not, you are going
to be SUED from here to Armageddon!"

The only thing that gets their attention is the threat of a lawsuit.

    Those zealous creeps!

    Added Comment:

Is this how they would control the people in the New Order?
Maybe the "attendants" should be issued black uniforms,
wear shiny black boots, and have a silver Watchotwer Logo
insignia on their lapels. They would look good marching down
the streets doing the "Theocratic Goosestep"!

I used to get cracked up at the brothers they would choose for security at the assemblies.
It was part of my entertainment to look at the ones sitting by the stairs at both sides of the stage and wonder just what they think they could do in an emergency situation.
    Throw a Bible?
Use their body as a shield?
    Start praying?
    Scream and run?
You shoulda seen some of these guys!
They were usually wimpy little guys or overweight.

I sure didn't feel any more secure.
