Real Estate guy called ... he is supposed to get a WRITTEN OFFER on that house I've had for sale since OCT 07.
I cut the price a bit. I hope this offer is close. We have a drop dead price... but I really dont want to give the farm away. I am taking a hosing in this market... and this farm represents all the equity of 30 years working for me.

Well... This offer was only about $40K short of what I'm asking. Plus, they offered to take some farm stuff off my hands as "no value". I still have a couple of tractors and some stuff stored in the barn.
I told my agent to bring me some real buyers and that I was insulted by this bogus offer. We made a counter and they came back $30K low.
Chapter 13 ... we figure we could pay off this farm and all the unsecured debt we have in 5 years... that's starting to look like an option to me.

The housing market is difficult here too, but i do not think it will be as what you guys are through
