Should the US Comander and Chief be Under the Same Law as the Citizens?

  Ok what do you think should the Prez or Comander & Chief of the US be under the same accountability as the citizen of his country? or should a higher standard be applied?

  IF it were true would that not stop alot of US bombing of other countries? Should the comander&chief be liable for the death penalty if he commits certain crimes against humanity? Or should he be exempt? Morally correct or shortsited?

  I think(morally not nationalistly) the same penalty that would be applied to a person that paid a hitman to kill somebody what ever the penalty should be applied to the president if he sends bomb to be droped another country with out proper justification,,if every american president were faced with that option there would be a lot less of america bombing other countries,, also lower the threat of nuclear war if to know there is a chance he might be tried and executed later. I know wishful thinking or is it?

  Yes, that is why impeachment exists. Also when Bush's term is through he will have a date in the Hague if should decide to go to Europe or Asia.

  That's the whole issue right now with the Bush presidency, which is modeled on Cheney's unitary executive theory. We are the midst of a Constitutional crisis that is far from being resolved.

  The founding fathers established habeas corpus because of the legal abuses of the monarchy. Bush has turned the clock back 250 years and he thinks he has the power of an unaccountable monarch.

  I don't think the average person realizes the jeopardy our Democracy is in right now.

  The last war in Iraq was perpetrated under false pretenses everyone knows that now, G. Bush and his administration should all be held accountable

  for their actions irregardless of what should be come of Iraq when they finally move out

  Stop and think for a second on how many families have lost loved ones due to this irresponsible internationally illegal action.

  4000 or more Americans are dead and even more Iraqis.

  As a matter of fact you could equate this latest invasion with the Iraq invasion of Kuwait some years ago, thinking in terms of International law.

  If only those in congress had the moral insight enough to begin an accounting but sadly many of them are almost as guilty as the prez. so the chances remain slim if we rely on them so if this will ever come it will be by the people and protests in the streets, on the net or what ever means grabs attention so as to get consciousness of such ideas as solutions to the often missled masses,, and then things will changed fro the good.

  Also consider if the C&C and members of his administration should recieve capital punish ment for their complicity? Would this solve a lot of problem in future administrations to use force accountably?

  How come we use a different standard for the rich and powerful, I think all see the danger in such lopsided justice which is rearing it's destructive ugly head in past and currant administrations and threatens world security. the solution is so simple but so hard to impliment.

  Who keeps a world ruler in check? Are there no laws he has to follow? It would be wise for the USA own survival to impliment such laws already in place if they exist and if no sutable laws exist modify them into existence. This is what I would expect of a civil rights lawyer who became Prez BTW.
