When I heard the first claim I of course discounted it as being false or from someone who was mentally disturbed. But then I got another story and then another. It has began to be a very distrubing picture. All these people live with absolute terror of the WT organization. I have had reports from twelve different major metropolitian areas across the USA. Of particuliar interest is the similiar things described from people who do not know each other. Things like animal sacrifice, child sacrifice, CO's and DO's in charge along with prominent elders, video taping of child molestation, specific rituals that lead up to the abuse, groups of children being involved, the gatherings were often called called family studies for a cover, threats of death if ever told to the outside. These are just of few of commonalities between the stories I have heard. These people have acute memories of times dates and places including names which I have verified were in specifc congregations. It is very disturbing to say the least.

Silentlambs, stay skeptical please. When you really investigate what they are saying, it is all what has appeared in movies and books.

Many who once believed this are now coming to their senses and like people who claimed to be UFO abductees, admitting that this was confabulations of their minds .... The same counselling and books that "help" these people "remember" the satanic ritual abuse also helps them "remember" their ufo abductions and other wierd and wonderful things.

Stay skeptical and you will stay sane!

That ritual santanic abuse of children occurs is beyond question. It's one of the leading causes of the development of Dissociative Identity Disorder in children. Whether it occurs in an organized way within the Borg I don't know, I'd have to see evidence.

    Howdy,

I find it simplistic to believe that we're the only type of being in all the universes. I also find it simplistic to believe that if there are others in this universe, that we're the most advanced. I find it extremely simplistic to believe that if we're not alone, then we couldn't be visited, abducted, studied, etc. by others more advanced than we are.

Does that mean that I believe in alien abductions? No, but it does mean that I won't say that it can't happen, never has happened. It could. Wouldn't we do that to others if we had the opportunity?

In my most humble, uneducated, opinion - people who say all, never, none, absolutely yes, absolutely not, - seem to have incredibly black/white thinking.

I feel the same type of reasoning can be held with the accounts of satanic ritual (including all types of any style satanic background). No one can say that there has never been a case of satanic ritual. Whether it's been proven is another question.

I don't know absolutely all the facts - and absolutely no one else does either. Does it happen? Who knows absolutely that it has never - ever - happened, and can prove it? Who can prove that it has?

Perhaps it'll always remain in a gray - unprovable to 100% - area. I read a quote by a professional years ago on this subject. "If these satanic abuses have happened - this really needs to be studied. If these satanic abuse cases didn't happen - this really needs to be studied." Remarkably intelligent statement, imho.

I do believe that a large amount of these accounts are helped along/inspired by books and biased therapists/psychiatrists.

    Thanks.

A friend of mine, who completed his MA in history of religions some time before me, did his studies on "satanism" and related issues. Now he's an Asst. Profesor in religion, but back then he did a very interesting lecture on the "satanic ritual abuse issue" which he had beem resaearched very well.

The US, and later the UK, experienced a number of those "satanic panics." Real people were accused of abusing children sexually and in some cases sacrificing them to Satan. Fortunately, by the time these cases reached the courts, the panic had subsided, and the courts could have a sober look at the cases. With some few unfortunate exceptions, the suspects were absolved.

The main culpits in the cases were a few rogue "therapists", allied with some fundamentalist preachers. Based on testimonies from people who were obviously mental cases (in various ways), the therapists created "satanic ritual abuse" stories from virtually nothing.

One of the most interesting facts was that children were interviewed by these quasi-therapists, and were clearly rewarded by telling outragous stories. We all know (I hope) how imaginative children can be. Second, when children did not tell therapists what they wanted to know, they made children make drawings, and then told the courts with a straight face that the children had told about ritual abuse. In fact, the children had made surrealistic drawings which the therapists had interpreted to mean they had been abused. To sane people, those drawings meant nothing (Freud, unfortunately, still has a great unfluence among quack 'therapists').

Another factor was that deeply disturbed adults were put together in "group therapy" sessions. In these, what typically happened were that these people (who really needed serious help) were rewarded for outragous stories. It went like one woman telling the group that she had given birth to a child who was sacrificed to Satan. Not to be outdone, the next one told she had given birth to two children sacrificed to Satan, etc.

No evidence was ever found that any of these people were telling anything even remotely connected to the truth. But it started a lot of "satanic panics" where a lot of innocent people were persecuted for the fantasies of the delusional, helped by the religious and quasi-psychological ideas of some wacky "therapists".

This is really a totally tragic story for all concerned. Alas, the rogue "therapists" did not get what they deserved for wrecking the lives of hundreds of innocents.
