...is not Harry Potter, it is the Leonid Meteor Showers!

This is a ONCE IN A LIFETIME viewing opportunity. Astronomers say that we will not have such a brilliant show again until 2099. By then, Armageddon will have killed us all! ;-)

Which night this weekend and at what time will this be taking place? This sounds like something I don't want to miss.

Here in Wisconsin it is supposed to be at it's best viewing from about 3 am to 5 am early Sunday morning. I heard it's supposed to be cloudy Sunday but maybe I'll set the old alarm anyway and check it out.

Sunday night, from 3am EDT to sunrise. Get away from the lights of the Big City and look to the SE.

Please, is it the night of saturday to sunday or the night of sunday to monday ?
I thought it was last week-end, and with my kid, we put a blanket in the yard, a big quilt to cover us and watched, from 9.30 to about 10.30 at night, and amazingly enough, we saw at least a dozen "shooting stars".

Either night should work, but the night between Sunday evening and Monday morning will be best.
