    LOL @ Bring_the_Light

I owe god the depreciated value of a 6,000-year-old-apple.

    Think I'll share that with a fellow hell-bound co-worker.

How sure are you it was an apple?

Remember the prose prologue and epilogue of Job are but the "upbuilding" cover of a very different poetical drama (actually starting from chapter 3) where Job's actual dealing with "God" is very, very far from "praise". Too bad most readers stop at the cover.

His wife and friends tryed to get him to forget God and die already. He didn't allow any of that to bother him and actually stayed beside God with blind faith. He continued to say sorry and to forgive his sins. Many of you have him as an example but are just to proud for your own good.

The way I figure it, I owe god the depreciated value of a 6,000-year-old-apple. He's charged me more than I owe, therefore I ain't payin'. Let the f-er take it to court.

That has to be one of the most succinct indictments of fundamentalist christianity I have read.
