The most disturbing part of the clock is that the deaths DO NOT match the birth rates. Too bad. Ideally people would be dying off at the same or greater rate than the births if this planet's environment were to achieve any sort of sustainability. This is the biggest threat to our species existence, not heart disease and cancer.
I don't know what it's going to take for people to give up their cultural ideals of reproducing themselves into starvation and extinction. It's not rocket science. Two parents, two children maximum. Well, I guess the earth provides it's own solution to any specie's excesses. It tends to be self-correcting that way.
