    Blondie,

I don't think the point was about the gas or "double-dipping" for gas money.

I think the point was that the CO himself never expends himself OR THE SOCIETY-PROVIDED VEHICLE willingly, yet he is supposed to be a shepherd, a minister, a slave to the Master. (Correct me if I'm wrong, LDH.)

When the publishers drive, they pay for the gas AND the wear and tear out of their own vehicles.
If the CO should drive, the publishers pay for the gas and the wear and tear takes its toll on the CO's vehicle.
But WHO PAYS, ultimately, for the CO's vehicle?
    The Friends.
And who benefits should there be less wear and tear on it at the end of the lease period?
    The Society.

Sorta like the mags.... purchased once by the publishers. And, if they're lucky, a second time by the householder.

The WATCH TOWER pays for nothing!!!

(who had to have been the MOST naive publisher ever in the history of the Borg -- not even realizing this envelope and credit card crap was going on...)
