In both instances the child knew they screwed up and were sorry for it.

But just because they were sorry, does that mean they avoided the punishment though? They knew what they deserved (or what was coming to them??) but the song doesn't actually say anything does it? I suppose it depends on what you read between the lines.

Maybe I have this idea because I spent most of the afternoon talking about heaven, hell, salvation and the like!

    Emo,

I think you're probably over-analyzing the song here. Just my $.02.

FWIW, I've never believed in Hell Fryer.

I've had plenty of very concerned Christians try convincing me otherwise though. So I guess when I'm subjected to the flames of the eternal weinie roast I'll have no excuse. I was "warned".

Yeah maybe, I'm prone to that at times - it's not always a bad thing though

At least I put a bit more food for thought into the thread if nothing else eh?

I don't believe in a fryer now either - I've been warned a few times by my fellow Christians that I'm in danger of it for not believing in the conventional sense - annoying innit lol!

My response to them is usually the one displayed in my current avatar

    Not sentimental here.

I am suprised a guy would post this.

Sappy songs mean very little to me, as I usually think in concrete terms.

It is really simple. Your child deserves love and guidance. Any deity or organization that put up barriers to this is unworthy of any consideration.

It it takes a song to communicate that to you, I guess that is okay.
