Truly bizarre that they HAVE to move the border to gain access to a river that is only feet away? It's not like it's in a foreign country?
It's also wierd that here in the Vancouver we have soooo much drinking water that goes into the ocean. Enough to sell to the entire western states of the US.

Georgia has a severe problem on their hands and don't know exactly how to fix it...

If the state line as currently drawn is incorrect then Georgia deserves to get what ever water resources are within the correct state boundries. If the state boundries are correct as currently defined then it is tough sh** for Georgia.

Ok, Atlanta is 100 miles from the Tennessee state line, how is that water up there going to do them any good? Do they plan to run a pipeline all the way down to Atlanta? If this water can somehow make it all the way down to quench Atlantan's thirst, then why not just offer to buy the water from Tennessee?
I just cant see how water 100 miles away is going to help. -

I wish! However it appears that there are some who think mussels are more important that people (these be the yankees that live in Florida). Maybe if the draught continues we can all move to Southern California.

J-G. Up here I have heard many a discussion about a pipeline down to California. It's about 1500 miles to LA. It seems bad to see so much mountain water going into the ocean. We here drink it unfiltered straight to our taps. Cold too. The rest is overflow and wasted.

JG, my husband told me, that there was a pipeline near us, that ran to Oklahoma City. I googled it, Oklahoma water pipeline, and came up with this article. Looks like they want to build another just like it. Look at the price difference. Then 50 million, in 1950, Now 200 million, in 2008. What a difference 60 years make!!

The crying shame of it all is that we're all American's, we should be able to share our resources without bickering or fighting about it.
