Miss Crabtree was doing a word usage exercise in class one day. She said, "O K class, I am going to give you a word and I want you to use it in a sentence when I call on you". Todays word is going to be " DICTATE ".
So, she calls on Alfalfa. Miss Crabtree, he says," DICTATE....I can dictate a few lines from my weekly reader".
Miss Crabtree says, " very good, Alfalfa. "Next she calls on Spanky., he says, " I know what I am talking about and you don't have to dictate to me."
Finally she calls on Buckwheat. Buckwheat stands up and says, "Saay, Darla, HOW MY DICTATE" !!!
