.. and I don't know whether to scream or eat a banana.

I walked into a barber today to get a haircut. The prices were posted outside with a haircut going for $15.95.

I got a very nice haircut and when I was ready to leave the barber said, "that will be $12.95." Thinking I did not see the sign right I did not protest and paid the amount with a tip. When I left I read the rest of the price list and noticed that the senior discounted price is $12.95.

Now, I am "only" 50 and have all my hair with a little gray. As I walked away, I was had very mixed feelings. I like that I saved money, but, do I really look that old?

I remember ordering a salisbury steak dinner a few years ago. Didn't notice anything different except the plate was slightly smaller and I got a bun.

Saved 50 cents and got a bun @ 49 years old then. The lady wrote down the seniors special for some reason. Never got that deal since.

The closer I get to being eligible, the less I like the idea of the discount.

I'm 55, I started getting them at some restaurants at 50, I was upset, but what can you do.

On the good foot I got carded twice in the last 30 days buying beer at Winn Dixie. Go figure.

I am all for getting discounts. I wonder what would happen if I agressively starting asking for the senior citizen discount. Would they as for ID?
