Most of us have read that 1968 Awake article that clearly states their belief that 1975 was going to be the end of the "system of things." I decided to check out the Watchtower Library just to see if this article appeared. It didn't, but I noticed something very strange. Why is it that the CD has Watchtower articles all the way back to 1950, while it only has Awakes going back to 1970? Do you think the purpose of this is to hide the infamous 1968 article?

The CD is only half full, so it's not a space limitation.

There is a disclaimer in both the bound volumes and CD-ROM saying they may vary from the original

I would say so.

The article wasn't altered, just no Awakes before 1970 are on the CD. Periodicially each year certain books are dropped from the CDs that were on the previous CD. So keep your CDs because only the older ones have certain books, such as the Babylon the Great Book and the Your Will Be Done book. Certain articles on 1975 are also hard to find in the index as well.

Check out the May 1974 KM, about selling of homes and participating in the full time ministry as the end nears. I believe you'll find that in the CD rom.

Alan Feuerbacher (AlanF) gives a very good chronological essay re 1975, quoting WT references beginning in 1966 (KM, Awake) through their half-baked acknowledgement of responsibility (1980).

I don't understand this "cover up" thing. That was just our understanding at the time....no need to dwell on the past.
