I think generally worldly friends have nothing to do with the desire to leave. Although having these friends does make the transition easier or even possible (this is why we're not allowed to have worldly friends).

It wasn't based on "wordly influence", but my non-JW friends made it easier as for the most part, they were very neutral and non-judgemental
