Thanks, caba! Another valuable set of resources.

If I may make an observation (in no way intended to diminish the value of the Russel-period info you and others have been pdf'ing):

Unless I miss my guess, much of this source material comes from the Chicago Bible Students (perhaps also Dawn Publications?). They have both done a tremendous amount of work transcribing what are, as far as I know, the original WTs and Studies.

But then there are also the Reprints that were done by the WTS (in the early 20s?).

Insofar as I have compared (to a very limited extent) what appear to be originals with the "official" Reprints, there are here and there minor, but in some cases noticeable, revisionist discrepancies. And those who have access to the actual originals have confirmed that there are such discrepancies between the CBS/DP versions, as well as the Reprints.

Probably way overkill for what's useful today, but perhaps also an indication of how early on, and continuing to this day, there are efforts to "shine the statue" of Russell, and to subtly minimize some of the many changes in doctrine.

Of course, I may be wrong in this evaluation, and I would gladly entertain dissenting opinions.

Thanks, Onacruse. It's my understanding that the PDFs put out by the Bible Students of the WTs from 1879-1916 were actually transcribed from original issues. The Reprints (published in 1920, I believe) were slightly edited (mainly condensations and omissions of some notices and Pilgrim's visits, etc.). So, the PDF of the WTs mentioned in this thread contain more information than the Reprints. All in all, I don't think the differences amount to very much, however.

As for the Bible Student versions of the various Studies in the Scriptures. These usually reprint the 1916 editions, which were Russell's last revisions. Earlier editions, however, have the predictions about 1914 which were altered in the 1915 and 1916 editions.

The Finished Mystery PDF mentioned in this thread that can be downloaded is the 1918 edition which contains all the pictures normally associated with the Karatol edition. So, it has the picture of the 7 Messengers of the Church (which has Russell as the 7th Messenger) and the picture showing Russell in the Critics Den, and several other pictures. Most editions of The Finished Mystery do not contain these pictures.

Could you explain to me how you make a old book like this, Searchable and Bookmarked ?

    I have Acrobat 8

I ran the OCR program that came with Adobe 7 on the file, but it made it huge (over 200 MB) and the character recognition wasn't that great. A friend used ABYY on the file and at medium quality it was about 50 MB and the character recognition was great. I used the "reduce file size" command in Adobe 7 to get it to its current size. Adding bookmarks is fairly easy in Adobe. Just click on the bookmarks tab and then click on "options" and you can bookmark away.
