badboy, I have some contacts who may be able to point you in the right direction to get the help you need.

    Can you tell me:

    a) roughly what you'd like to do

    b) what kind of support you need - practical, financial, physical etc.

I'll pass the info on to them and see what they say, okay? Don't get discouraged

Social security are not there to find you work, they are there to organise benefits payments. The only time I ever found a job through a job centre was by using the facilities of a jobseekers club to make loads of job applications.

If you do not have any work experience I would suggest studying through the open university to give you better qualifications or perhaps find a web development course which you could use to start your own business from home.

I have friends who work for the DSS and they get very frustrated by clients who expect to have jobs come to them, unfortunately the world does not work like that.

IT IS VERY DIFFICULT FOR ME.

I understand that you are disabled but saying "It is very difficult for me" and expecting the DSS to sort out a job for you, is nothing more than capitulation. Work to your strengths and find something that you CAN do, something that is within your physical abilities.

If you are receiving benefit they will call you in to review your case from time to time to see if your circumstances have changed at all and check that you are still entitled to what you are receiving.

I've been in that situation. Got a part-time job in Kentucky Fried Chiken and enrolled in a full-time science degree.

A career does not come easy. You have to want it, plan it and do it. Be asertive. It won't just come to you.
