Israeli Says Elusive Biblical Wall Found

Interesting the historical incompentence out there. Nehemiah did not rebuild the wall destroyed by the Bablonians. A new wall was rebuilt already just 16 years after the Jews returned from Babylon. All Nehemiah did was repair the walls. It only took 52 days. Seems like an archaeologist would know there is no way a double wall around a city could have been built in just 52 days!

But still the discovery is wonderful since it must be the original ball built after the Jews returned. It's just a technical detail I suppose.

Thanks for the post. I wrote to someone who knows Mazar to let her know she should realize the wall was built earlier before she says too much about her discovery. Clearly she doesn't realize, even though it's slightly embarassing that she thinks a wall was built in just 52 days!
