To me it was below average!
Musically, very basic and lyrically just wasn't my thing! Nothing really hooked me in to make me want to listen.

I agree, I'm afraid. The music was very amateur and irritating; it was just like other religious-type music that has no real melody and is simply a statement on bad things in the world. If I was him I'd find another vocation.
