Just received this on a JW e-mail list, hadn't seen it on here before, so thought I'd share it, though it probably has been posted! Not sure what 'truth' has to do with selflessness!

    Subject: 7%

A man was having a conversation with God one day and said, 'Jehovah, I would like to know what the difference is between The Light of your Truth and The Darkness of Satan? ' Jehovah led the man to two doors. He opened one of the doors and the man looked in. In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew, which smelled delicious and made the man's mouth water. The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles that were strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful. But because the handle was longer than th eir arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths. The man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering. The Lord said, 'You have seen The Darkness.' They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one. There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the man's mouth water. The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking. The man said,'I don't understand.' It is simple,' said God. 'It requires but one skill. You see they have learned to feed each other, while the greedy think only of themselves.' It's estimated 93% won't forward this. If you are one of the 7% who will, forward this with the title '7%'. I am in the 7% Remember that I will always share my spoon with you.

In case anyone's interseted, I'm part of the 93%!

I'd use the long spoon to knock the pot over.

Not sure what percentage that makes me.

And I saw a third door, that was open, with no one inside, and the people that used to be in there learned to think for themselves and hit the road for a Denny's Rooty-tooty-fresh-n-frooty.

Yet another "church" email that some JW stole, changed "Lord" to "Jehovah" and forwarded on. Funny, they wouldn't dare set foot in a church, despite the crap spewing from the pulpit sounding remarkably like that spewing from the KH podium. But they somehow manage to pick up these bits of tripe, smear a little "Jehovah" basting on them, and serve them up at Jehovah's table.

well take away the jw element...and it's still a pretty good sentiment

just because it doesn't apply to all jws doesn't mean it doesn't apply to some - along with all others regardless of race colour religion etc etc etc.

shame on those that appear to be proud of being a part of the selfish majority.
