horrible life
I am so jealous! I love cold. We have a big get-together for Thanksgiving, with my husbands family, out in the country, in a small weekend home of his sisters. Very little room inside. We usually end up eating outside, on picnic tables. It is usually warm enough. Don't know about this year though.
My daughter had her tonsils out, last Friday. I have been tending to her, and haven't even walked out to get the mail. I am exhausted. I hear it may be a little chilly. YEA!!!

My inner child wants to go out and play!!!
But the adult side needs a coffee first:-)
A good day to all...

Good. Now I hope the meeting gets cancelled for snow. I also hope the Witlesses have a nasty time finding a place to park their car or that their windows keep getting fogged up real good, wasting plenty of time.

Good. Now I hope the meeting gets cancelled for snow.
We live north of Syracuse in what is called the Snow Band....caused by the LES (Lake Effect Snow) weather conditions. It can be a true blizzard on one road----and clear on the next. It is like much like going in and out of clouds in an airplave and VERY unpredictable try and figure out when to travel. I have been caught in some horrendous and frightening conditions coming home from meetings. Snow can fall at several inches per hour here and can bury things in just a few hours.
The local weather forecasters are as accurate as they can be in warning us when it is dangerous to be out, but these storms come up swiftly and suddenly. When conditions SHOW in advance that things will be getting dicey----they are quick to immediately announce it on the media. THIS is where the local WTS reps comes into play, as they SELDOM cancel a meeting.....I can count on one hand the number of times they have officially called off a meeting in the decades I attended.
The TV would be stating the National Weather Service is telling people around here to STAY OFF THE ROADS EXCEPT FOR EMERGENCY OR NECESSARY TRAVEL ONLY----and yet the JW phones would be ringing off the wall to check and see if they "should" go to the meeting. The elders would often wait until many had already LEFT in time to be there and I used to get SO irritated at the total lack of concern for our health and safety---just for a meeting where we had "prepared", underlined and gone over all the material in our own homes anyway! I am SO glad to be done with all that nonsense....and feeling guilty when not "obeying" the men of the WTS!
Anyway....The first snowfall is always so pretty and makes everything look so magical. When all the leaves are off the trees, everything takes on a brownish-gray cast, and the snowfall certainly brightens things up!

Man I love your post Spit! It says so much with so little. Waking up alone or not, walking quietly to the window, and maybe seeing how it comes down by streetlight. That would probably have been a time for a quick prayer for me, and maybe I still say "thank you" in some way still. Now you can add you State to your profile!!!!!........thanks for the thought!.......oompa
