My point is this. We all know the WTS weaseled out on their bedrock 1914 "this generation will not pass away..." doctrine in 1995. But when having a JW encounter, such as a recent posters encounter/ambush in the A&P parking lot, why not play dumb, mention the above math and ask .."what happened? A person 10 yrs old in 1914 would be 103 today, much longer than a generation..". Then stand back while they try to explain what they themselves probably can't swallow. When they're finished just give them a "you pathetic fool" look then shake your head and walk away.
"I'm confused...1914 to 2007 = 93..." ?

That's actually a good idea. Most of them can't explain this.
Even for the one in a hundred who can, you can follow up with:
"So did you used to believe the other meaning for 'generation' ?
Why did you change your mind? If the end is within a couple of
years, would there have been a need to abandon the old thinking?
Then isn't there still plenty of time?" -

Your confused? How can anyone under stand this doublespeak: 1995 QFR
Yes, in the initial fulfillment, "this generation" evidently meant the same as it did at other times—the contemporaneous generation of unbelieving Jews. That "generation" would not pass away without experiencing what Jesus foretold. As Williamson commented, this proved true in the decades leading up to Jerusalem’s destruction, as an eyewitness historian, Josephus, described.
In the second or larger fulfillment, "this generation" would logically also be the contemporaneous people. As the article beginning on page 16 establishes, we need not conclude that Jesus was referring to a set number of years making up a "generation."
On the contrary, two key things can be said about any time implied by "generation." (1) A generation of people cannot be viewed as a period having a fixed number of years, as is the case with time designations meaning a set number of years (decade or century). (2) The people of a generation live for a relatively brief period, not one of great length.
Back to oompa----see one big problem is contemporaneous is a six syllable word!!!! They cant use it or understand it. And if Jesus "generatons would not pass away, then why has the one from 1914"??????? Hello???
Im still confused.....oompa
