This photo was taken in 1921.

Anyone recognize the man in the center with the mustache?

so that's what Tesla looked like - have watched a documentary about him. Not sure how much is true, and how much is sensationalism as some of the folks around here who go on about Tesla are definite nutcases. Anyone care to educate me about Tesla?

Looks like Father Guido from SNL a long time ago. What's the background to the pic, or did I miss it?

I know Tesla and Edison were opponents in getting the US wired for electricity. Tesla believed in DC and Edison in AC. (I think that's right). We use a Tesla coil at work to demonstrate static electricity.

Tesla was a genius. if more people would have listened to him, we'd be even further along in technology. what happened, though, was edison was better at marketing, and a thief.

    here's a good link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikola_Tesla

Correct, The two men are indeed Albert Einstein and Nikola Tesla.

The picture was take when a group of scientists made a tour of the Somerset, New Jersey wireless station in 1921.

I found this picture while searching for information about Charles Proteus Steinmetz, who is also shown in the picture as the only man wearing a light colored suit.

Tesla and Steinmetz together were responsible for the development and use of alternating current for the transmission of power.

Here is the source of the picture:

In 1919, the old New Brunswick, New Jersey Marconi Company Wireless Station on Easton Avenue in the Somerset section of Franklin Township, Somerset County, New Jersey became part of the newly organized Radio Corporation of America (RCA) as station WII under the World Wide Wireless logo. RCAs David Sarnoff conducted an inspection tour of the facility in 1921. Some of the greatest scientists of the era attended. From left to right are: three unidentified men, David Sarnoff, Thomas J. Hayden, Ernst Julius Berg, S. Benedict, Albert Einstein, Nikola Tesla, Charles Proteus Steinmetz, A.N. Goldsmith, A. Malsin, Irving Langmuir, Albert W. Hull, E.B. Pillsbury, Saul Dushman, Richard Howland Ranger, George Ashley Campbell and two unidentified men. Some of the unidentified men might be John Carson (engineer), and Ernst Alexanderson. Others may be additional station engineers like Thomas J. Hayden who is next to Sarnoff.
