About 2 years ago in my journal I started a page "Rules for Life":
My rule for this page was it had to be a definent, 100% for certain rule with no way of swaying it's truth. In 2years time I've come up with one rule so far on that page.
    1) Talk is cheap; so keep it simple.

I think I may be ready to add Rule #2:
    2) Air, Food, Water. . . . .LOVE.

Just for fun, does anyone have any "Rules for Life" that I may be able to add to my journal?

These are the Dalai Lama's rules for the new millenium

    1. Take into account that great love and great
    achievements involve great risk.

    2. When you lose, don't lose the lesson.

    3. Follow the three Rs: Respect for self
    Respect for others and Responsibility
    for all your actions.

    4. Remember that not getting what you want is
sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.

    5. Learn the rules so you know how to break them
    properly.

    6. Don't let a little dispute injure a great
    friendship.

    7. When you realize you've made a mistake, take
    immediate steps to correct it.

    8. Spend some time alone every day.

    9. Open your arms to change, but don't let go of
    your values.

    10. Remember that silence is sometimes the best
    answer.

    11. Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get
older and think back, you'll be able to enjoy
    it a second time.

    12. A loving atmosphere in your home is the
    foundation for your life.

    13. In disagreements with loved ones, deal only
with the current situation. Don't bring up the past.

    14. Share your knowledge. It's a way to achieve
    immortality.

    15. Be gentle with the earth.

    16. Once a year, go someplace you've never been
    before.

    17. Remember that the best relationship is one in
which your love for each other exceeds your need
    for each other.

    18. Judge your success by what you had to give up
    in order to get it.

    19. Approach love and cooking with reckless
    abandon.

    20. Spend your life creating and discovering new things.

    Hi, PeacePipe.

    I keep a journal too.

    Two principles greatly influencing my
    conduct right now:

    1. No regrets
    2. No unfinished business

    Thanks Quester!
Good principles; though, No Regrets. . . . .that is a tough one for me. It's hard for me to make decisions because I have to look 50 years down the road to decide if I'll be laying on my death bed regretting the action. . . .(i'm verrrry fickle)
    Thanks again!

    Introspection: funny!!!!!

    Here you go Peacepipe.

"Dont let yesterday take up too much of today."

On the lighter side, heres some from Dilbert:

    1. Dont argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level, and then beat you with expertise.
    2. Dont meddle in the affairs of dragons, because you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

Boozy, who probably tastes like chicken too. :-)

    Hey PeacePipe,

No regrets doesn't mean no mistakes.

Instead of stifling my action, it actually
pushes me out there to try because
I'll ask myself, can I NOT do that?
Would I regret it if I didn't try?
Often the answer is yes, so I go ahead
    and try.

I've heard it said that the things we regret
the most are not the mistakes we make in
life, but all the times we held back and
    didn't say or do something.
